Mercury in Astrology
Mercury governs communication, thinking, learning, commerce, and local travel, defining how you collect, process, and relay information. Ruling Gemini and Virgo, it influences your speaking style, problem-solving, daily systems, and adaptability. Its sign, house, and aspects flag decision speed, negotiation tactics, tech and data fluency, and the tone of your inner voice. During Mercury retrograde, prioritize review and repairs in messages, contracts, schedules, and devices.

Personality Snapshot
Mercury is your interface with the world: how you name things, connect dots, and explain ideas. When Mercury flows, work feels simple and conversations land. When it’s jammed, wires cross and details leak.
✅ What it wants
- Clear inputs and low-latency feedback
- Freedom to tweak, test, and iterate
- Honest conversations over vague signals
⚠️ When it struggles
- Overthinking, info-hoarding, hot takes
- Chaos calendars; lost logistics
- Talking instead of deciding
🧭 Feed it well
- Daily capture → weekly sort → monthly ship
- Write before you meet; decide in writing
- Protect deep work windows

Is Mercury just “communication”?
It’s also how you perceive and model reality—note-taking, frameworks, short trips, tech, and trade live here too.
Will Mercury retrograde ruin launches?
No. It’s a review window. Double-check details, build buffers, and ship in phases. Use the house transit for context.
What about combust / cazimi?
Combust (very close to the Sun ) can feel overwhelmed; cazimi (in the heart of the Sun) can feel sharp/privileged. Check lived results over strict rules.
